How it works:
To see what's inside of each command block just point your mouse over it.
How to read?
Don't worry that's simple.
Read before the chain on the left and than the one on the right. Start from the bottom to the top following the direction that the arrow are pointing.
execute @a ~ ~ ~ detect ~ ~-1 ~ stained_hardened_clay 14 kill @p[r=1]
It's a simple "execute detect" command. It checks if there's the block "stained_hardened_clay 14" below the player. "14" stands for the data value of the block. List of IDs and data values: http://minecraft-ids.grahamedgecombe.com/ Next there's the action, [RED] in this case it just kills the player.
execute @a ~ ~ ~ detect ~ ~-1 ~ stained_hardened_clay 11 title @p title [{"text":"You won!","color":"dark_green","bold":true}]
Same thing as the command block below, but this time it displays a title.
execute @a ~ ~ ~ detect ~ ~-1 ~ stained_hardened_clay 4 particle fireworksSpark ~ ~ ~ .1 0.1 0.1 .01 3
Same thing as the command block below, but this time it displays a particle.
execute @a ~ ~ ~ detect ~ ~-1 ~ stained_hardened_clay 5 effect @p speed 1 3 true
Same thing as the command block below, but this time it gives a speed effect to the player.
